Is Atlanta going Gonzo?

Jonathan Gonzalez of Monterrey is thought to be a target of the United. He came on as a sub earlier this week in a 1-0 loss to Leon, his last game there? As per Fernando Cevallos a local scribe there, this is coming to pass and trumor has it that the deal may be done this week. It may very well be a loan with the option to buy his contract for Atlanta. Diego Medina of TUDN also put this news out. Even Herculez Gomez got in on the fun that it is between here and Celta Vigo of La Liga in Spain as the player had stated this last game would be his last with the Rayados. Taylor Twellman also chimed in on this that both ATL and another MLS team has him in their sights. He has 99 games with his current team at just 21, as well as with El Tri. He would require a 10 million or so transfer fee, no issue as this team has proven. Atlanta does have a few holes to fill, Nagbe is of course off to the Crew and Martinez is out with an injury, having played v Atl 2x as he started their games in the 2019 CCL quarters, he has been scouted well.
