Garden City, NY ~  Adelphi Women's Soccer Coach Chris Armas wins in his coaching debut 3-1 over Philadelphia University.

"I was excited, but not like before a game," said Coach Armas describing the preparation for his first game as Head Coach of Adelphi Women's Soccer.

This debut is the "homecoming" to his Alma Mater where he is an inductee in the school's Athletic Hall of Fame.  Armas was a stand out at Adelphi and went on to be an all star with Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire where they won an MLS Cup, as well as being a steady defender for the The United States Men's National Team, where he was also Captain several times.

Coach Armas is one of the more understated gentlemen you'll ever meet and when asked about where he wants the program to go, he stated "I love these girls. We have a really good group and they worked pretty hard today."  Pushed further, he stated that that eventually the goal as with every competition is "to win a championship."
