June 6, 2012-After losing in the Boys-Under-12 State Open Cup finals in overtime to New York SC last June, HBC United returned to Stringham Park in LaGrange on June 2 and won the Boys-Under-13 title in 2012 with a 1-0 win over the Albertson Lions in a final between two Long Island Junior Soccer League teams.

“We had a few key additions and playing as a team made the difference this year,” commented HBC coach Ray Anderson.

The only goal of the game was scored midway through the second half on an emphatic header by Jason Wasserman after a perfectly-placed corner kick by Nicky Honor.

HBC United is currently in second place in the Blue Division of the Northeast Regional Premier League with a 3-2-2 record. Good luck to HBC as they represent the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) in the Regionals from June 28 to July 3 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
