Hofstra's Mulholland Wins A Pair Of Awards

Hempstead, N.Y. - Hofstra freshman Jill Mulholland picked up two awards on Monday, earning the Colonial Athletic Association's Rookie of the Week honors while also being named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week.

Mulholland earned both distinctions after scoring a goal in each of Hofstra's Colonial Athletic Association victories last week. The Levittown, N.Y. native scored in the 87th minute to break a scoreless tie in a 1-0 victory at UNC Wilmington and added a goal and an assist in the Pride's 5-0 victory over Georgia State.

Top Drawer Soccer named Mulholland to the 11-player Team of the Week of Division I women's soccer. She was one of four midfielder named to the squad, joining Boston College's Stephanie McCaffrey, Memphis' Kylie Davis, Santa Clara's Julie Johnston and Denver's Kristen Hamilton.

Mulholland became the second Hofstra player to earn CAA Rookie of the Week honors, joining fellow freshman Leah Galton on the list after Galton won it on Aug. 20.

Mulholland leads the team with two game-winning goals. She has five goals and two assists, tying her with Galton for the team lead in goals and points (12).

Hofstra returns to action on Sunday at James Madison. Game time for the conference matchup is set for 1 p.m.
