There was great anticipation to hold the first Soccer Long Island International Tournament this coming July 4th weekend, however, the tournament has been canceled.  Soccer Long Island Magazine Publisher, Kevin McCrudden stated, "there was a great deal of excitement about the tournament and there were a lot of academy and premiere teams interested in playing, however, many of the international teams and academies needed more time to raise money for travel. We have a great committee and group of Long Island guys that are behind this and want it to be a huge success.  So we unfortunately are going to hold off and run the Tournament next 4th of July weekend 2012."
