Danone Cup at Red Bull Arena

Soccer Long Island Magazine is happy to announce that we will be doing a series of youth soccer clinics througout the area and awarding to winners of skill competitions a pair of tickets to this international youth tournament for ages 10-12. Please contact us to set up these clinics for your 10-12 year old soccer players. DNCE will perform at this event and Abby Wambach will also be in attendance. Should your interest be in having those of other age groups attend this internatinal final as well please feel free to let us know.

Since its inception in 2000, over 2.5million players have taken part in this the preeminent youth soccer tournament in the world. This year it come to us at Red Bull Arena, so accessible by the PATH train, half an hour out of Penn Station. This is an all day event as it begins at 10:30 a.m. ending at 5:00 p.m. Along with this stadium, the area around it is being built up and there is a wide variety of restaurants to choose from within walking distance just beyond the Harrisson stop of the PATH.

This tournament packs much super soccer power with its list of Ambassadors. 

GLOBAL: Zinedine Zidane, no explaination necessary.

CANADA: Laurent Ciman, Montreal Impact, 2015 Defender of the Year in his first year of MLS.

S KOREA: Lee Sung-Woo, top scorer in tourney 2010, Barcelona & S Korea natiional team.

BELGIUM: Sven Kums, best player in nations history, national title with KAA Gand 2014-'15.

USA: Abby Wambach, USWNT 2001-'15, 2 Gold medals, 2 World Cups, 6X US Soccer athlete of the year, USNT leader in goals with 184.

CANADA: Patrick Leduc, National team and Impact 2000-'10.

FRANCE: Blaise Matuidi, National team, '12 Euros, '14 World Cup now with PSG.

BULGARIA: Dimitar Berbatov, Fulham, Bulgaria player of the year 7x, lead EPL in goals 2011 with 21 strikes, International Ambassador with UNICEF and heads his foundation for underprivliged children.

ROMANIA: Georghe Haji, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Galatasary, leading national team goal scorer with 300 for club and country, Romanian Footballer of the Century.

There has been no shortage of great players to pass through this event on their way to international acclaim.
