Players are due to report for the 23rd season of one of the original MLS clubs as they fire it up for the season. Jan. 20-24 will have them heating it up locally at CIBC Fire Pitch Field, the 26th they are they off to Tampa for a 12 day training camp complete with a pair of games.
First foe for the Fire will be the Union on Feb. 1 from Joe Dimaggio Sports Complex , Clearwater FL. Feb 6 they take on a team TBD at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay.
The next piece to their pre season puzzle will see them in LA and a quartet of games. Orance County FC of the USL Championship on Feb 12, Colorado Rapids on the 15th, TFC Feb. 19, finally the Galaxy on Feb.22 all throughout the California leg of their camp.
Dignity Health Sports Park will host the Rapid and Galaxy games, open to the public in a double header.
It all gets real for those from the Windy City come Mar. 1, starting from the top with MLS champs Seattle Sounders away at CenturyLink FIeld, home opener Mar. 21 it does not get much easier with Lamar Hunt US Open Cup winning Atl Utd coming in at 2:30 p.m.CT.
