By Sean McCaffery, November 21, 2019

This new design is different that is for sure, the new name, Chicago Fire Football Club or Chicago Fire FC not so much, but the rebrand has arrived for one of the original teams of MLS. As explained by new majority owner Joe Mansueto " I always loved the Chicago Fire name. The new badge including the fire crown represents that spirit." There is a message in this badge, the mirror effect is to show the flames opposite each other creating a crown, the Fire Crown, relating the tale of the Windy City and it's rebirth to triumph. The oval is the first of its shape league wide now in the club colors is gold going with the main colors of red & blue joined with flag blue, an homage to the flag of Chicago and to be visible in things to come in team offings. Team Pres. & GM Nelson Rodriguez added "The Club's pillars-Be Chicago. Be Football. Be a Club- are fused into the new badge. How did we get here, included in the process were consultations, focus groups  and fan surveys, staff and MLS conduted alike, over one and a half years. Gone over were each and every bit of the Fire identity. The survey hit on the first meaning of the team name, crest & colors along with the desires of building all in the fast growing league for decades into the future. Once completed it was off to Doubleday & Cartwright a creative agency well versed in sports.
