The new look, new coach, new again home stadium Chicago Fire now have a new DIr. of Performance in Ben Donachie from AFC Bournemouth of the English Premier League where he had been for 8 years as the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach. During his time there he was in charge of the strength development and rehabilitation for both the first team and academy players. Over his years with Bournemouth, they were promoted twice over in three seasons, 2013 had them into the Football League Championship a return there for the first time since 1990. 2015 saw them for the first time ever in the EPL.
Newly appointed Fire Sporting Director Gerog Heitz stated " Ben has worked with players at the highest level in world football. We look forward to having him join our technical staff. We welcome Ben and his family to Chicago."
Donachie informed "After speaking with Georg and Raphael, it didn't take long for me to decide that I wanted to come on board. I can't wait to get started."
Ben is a grad of Bournemouth Univ. 2008, with a BS Honors in Exercise Science,also a holder of an MS in Sports & Exercise from the Univ. of Glasgow.
