Hoping for Red Bulls to be Inhospitable Hosts to the Galaxy

By Sean McCaffery, May 4, 2019

Soon the home team will move onto their next match of the 3 game homestand, catch them on ESPN as I will, ESPN+ & Red Bulls Radio. Red Bull leads the series 19-17-8 and far better at home 12-8-3. On the heels of stoppping a 5 game winless streak ,they take on the red hot LA team at 7-1-1 with NYRB Radio from 1 p.m ET and their Countdown to Kickoff by Honda, Matt Harmon hosts with Steve Jolley and Ernesto Motta begins now with his Spanish language coverage. This is the 45th meeting of the 2 teams, 24th in NY over the last 5 at RBA it is so even 2-2-1 and the visitors have the last win, last year, away, the Red Bulls prevailed 3-1. Their 2-4-2 start to the year flies in the face of the successes of last season and the team has only had such a slow start twice over the last 6 years, both had them at the top of the league or conference so it is not as big of a concern however to not get early points makes it more difficult later, they had the benefit of the CCL games to be ready earlier. Their next opponent, the Montreal Impact face the cross river rival, NYCFC later today.
