MLS at FCC Mon. as for Miazga?

By Anonymous (not verified), November 25, 2023
We have written about the Matt Miazga incident post game at Red Bulls, now 3 weeks ago, yes 21 days to the day. I would bet that the below is NOT relative to it and they have as yet made no media notifications on the discipline he is to face for entering the Referee Locker Room post game. We have put out denials from the team to an event we witnessed? By the account of the coach it was some 90 minutes post game, long time to keep that in and not think better of it, I was the one to inform a staffer of FCC as to Miazga entering this highly restricted area. He was issued a pair of yellow cards one in regulation time the other in PKs, that decision took just over 2 weeks to be released but not to media, via the website of MLS. I am not out to get him, I have had many pleasant dealing with him, joking with him and local friends of his, but as I have gone hard on others for doing things very much against the spirit of the game, this will be exception. There is a reason for a referee shortage, this is one, not being backed by the powers that be when something along these lines or worse occurs, this is too long. I would expect him to get a 5 game ban if in season, he is already out this weekend, given the importance of the next 2, I would be ok with 2 games. MLS is inconsistent with their punishment, see Wagner and Dante.
