Editor's Note: As for those on this list there are number of whom who I feel make more than serviceable players in MLS, yes a strong NY bias as I have seen them play more.
Chiellini: Of course he had a great season, even down to the last games, I did see them live, he has retired from the beautiful, but I wonder if a team with low attendance perhaps with a large Italian population in their market might not benefit form picking him up. He had plenty left in the tank late in the year, a last hurrah. perhaps.
Cufre: He did have a few moments with NYCFC, I do not think enough unless signed at a minimum salary and resigned to being a role player only.
Klinsman: I have head good things of him, again not a starter as yet, as a 2nd or 3rd, might not be a bad pickup.
Jake La Cava: A great year with the Rowdies of USL, then nothing, unlikely, develop him, get many minutes in games with a 2nd team train with first and he may just level up.
Pellegriini: He had gotten a great deal of time with NYCFC in he past, in '23 not so much, their level if anything dropped, did his as well?
Turnbull: A good solid, local player, not marketed at all, he played his way onto the first team, but not enough to stay? His time did drop off, he was effective in his minutes played.
Reid: Oh the irony, today marks a year to the day he was signed to a home grown deal with NYRB. Not given much time, he must not have shown much or they would have kept him. Or no, see Etienne, White, Parker, etc. others they have let go and gone on o greater things. Again, local not marketed at all, he did usually have groups of friends and family out to games, even not dressed we would find them in the stands. UCONN has a strong history and recent times of turning out good players for this level. Is he worth a draft pick, rather than a call into camp afterwards, I cannot say, when allowed to watch training at the RBNY facility on he media days held, we were able to watch warm ups...In their academy since the age of 12, how would they not have ben tracking him well enough in college, knowing him, the person behind the player?
