Don’t Let Them Up

New York City FC’s season has been in a tailspin since star striker Taty Castellanos left for La Liga club Girona FC in late July.

The defending MLS Cup champions have only one win in their last ten matches, but will certainly be up and ready for a New York Derby matchup.

A win against the Red Bulls would pull NYC to within a point of their derby rivals, and would likely energize a club who desperately needs a boost.

New York should do everything they can not to give them it.

Ruling the Road

What a season it has been for the Red Bulls on the road. With a win at CF Montréal on August 31, the club’s first since 2012, New York broke the franchise record for wins and points on the road in a season.

A derby match at Yankee Stadium will provide a hostile environment for the Red Bulls to deal with, but that is a challenge that the team has not had much trouble with in 2022.

Another road win would give New York 10 on the season, and would guarantee that the Red Bulls finish above NYC in the regular season standings.

What an opportunity for the road warriors to take advantage of.

Leave it to Lewis?

Lewis Morgan has had a stellar season for New York, tallying 17 goals and three assists across all competitions.

Morgan is the leading scorer for the Red Bulls by a significant margin. The next highest total is five goals from Luquinhas and Patryk Klimala.

Morgan has been the key cog to the New York offense, but some new additions to the score sheet will help the Red Bulls get their fourth road win against NYC.
