U-23 USMNT V Costa Rica, Dominican Republic & El Tri, Olympic Qualifiers

Shut out of the Olympics since 2008, WHAT!, it has 12 years now, that is horrible, the US will take on Costa Rica on their road to redemption March 20 from Guadalajara Mex. The U-23's are set to play Mar. 20 - Apr. 1 as the draw was just  conducted at Estadio Akron in the city, only one of 2 which will host the games. Game 2 is with the Dominican Republic on Mar. 23 then hosts Mexico on March 26. The top pair out of these Concacaf qualifying games will have their tickets punched for the 2020 games in Tokyo. There are a total of 8 teams from the region competing to go to Japan, the top two move on to play the #2's from the other side of the bracket. win and you're in.

Tourney History:

-USA is 4-5-3 v Mexico, last meeting in 2004

-USA is undefeated v Costa Rica @ 1-0-1 from 1980

-USA has yet to meet the Dominican Republic in these games

-Japan as host

-Egypt, Ivory Coast, & South Africa via the 2019 African Nations U_23 Cup of -Nations

-France, Germany, Romania & Spain by way of the 2019 UEFA U-21 Championship

-New Zeland with their success in the OFC Men's Olympic Qualifying Tourney
