FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
AMERICAN SOCCER CLUB NEW YORK STATEMENT ON ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11TH
Long Island, NY (September 11th, 2026) – American Soccer Club New York statement on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11:
WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, American Soccer Club NY joins our community, the soccer community, and the families of those we lost in remembering the lives taken on that tragic morning and the years that have followed.
Soccer has always been about more than what happens on the field. It is about relationships, community, shared experiences and the bonds that remain long after the final whistle. Twenty-five years later, those bonds are still with us.
On behalf of American Soccer Club NY, we honor every life lost and every family forever changed by September 11th.
We will never forget.
Statement from American Soccer Club Managing Partner and General Manager Jim Kilmeade:
“Twenty-five years later, it still feels new a raw. We vividly remember not only the lives lost on September 11th, but the teammates, coaches, parents and friends who were part of our extended soccer family. Working alongside my former Hofstra teammate Chris Galluzzo and the 9/11 New York Soccer Foundation has made this remembrance especially personal. Our game connects generations, communities and it is our responsibility to make sure these stories and these lives are never forgotten.”
